Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 Boosters Now Available!

Booster doses of the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines are now available at your local health department! The criteria to receive a booster dose of either the Moderna, Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccine are available below.

If you received a Pfizer or Moderna series:

  • 65 years and older (and it has been at least six months since the final dose of your primary series)
  • Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings (and it has been at least six months since the final dose of your primary series)
  • Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions (and it has been at least six months since the final dose of your primary series)
  • Age 18+ who work or live in high-risk settings (and it has been at least six months since the final dose of your primary series)

If you received a Johnson & Johnson vaccine:

  • Age 18+ (and it has been at least two months since the initial dose)

Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Some people may have a preference for the vaccine type that they originally received, and others may prefer to get a different booster. CDC’s recommendations now allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots.
