WIC Compliance Specialist/Admin Assistant


Position Title: WIC Compliance Specialist/Admin Assistant

Paygrade: F, G, or H (Dependent Upon Qualifications-Unclassified)

Location: Southeast Health District, Waycross, GA

Description of Duties:

Under limited supervision, prepares WIC budgets and expenditures for future year. Maintain knowledge of
allowable WIC expenditures. Examine financial documents on a monthly basis. Maintain accurate
documentation of received and expensed program funds. Process supplies and equipment orders. Process
travel statements. Conduct inventory of WIC assets.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university OR Two years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity and/or direct experience with WIC program policies and procedures. Ability to provide solutions
based on coaching, guidance, and follow-up with health department staff, state staff, and vendors.
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills; specifically related to providing quality advisory
services and conflict resolution skills. Analytical skills with ability to create relevant reports. Able to work
effectively in a high stress, changing environment. Familiarity with WIC electronic data systems including
but not limited to Mitchell & McCormick, Georgia WIC Information System (GWIS) and Georgia Gateway.
Experience monitoring and evaluating a program to determine compliance with policies and procedures.
Skills associated with interpreting program guidelines for end users.
