Position Title: Opioid Public Health Analyst

Paygrade: J

Location: SOUTHEAST HEALTH DISTRICT, Waycross, Georgia

Description of Duties:

Developing partnerships for Opioid planning and response; Facilitating collaboration with first responders; Supporting District Opioid initiatives; Attends conferences, educational webinars and meetings to increase knowledge of best practices. This includes participating in at least one Georgia Opioid Strategic Plan Work Group;  Prepare and submit reports that are deemed necessary in a timely manner; Work with DPH and local agencies and organizations to develop and maintain a list of resources for patients when their medical treatment provider is closed or no longer able to provide treatment services. Lead Opioid prevention efforts in high-risk areas for misuse; Provides support to the Office of Epidemiology.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience related to area of assignment. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the minimum qualification’s preference will be given to applicants with experience with

  • Experience in the substance abuse prevention, treatment and recovery field.
  • Experience in public health program planning and implementation.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience in public health data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
