How will the federal government shutdown affect my WIC food benefits?
At this time, DPH is projecting that Georgia WIC will have sufficient funding to continue program operations through approximately the first week of December, and maintain clinic operations through the end of the year. While a break in benefits could occur in the event of a prolonged federal government shutdown, DPH is evaluating options to extend the WIC benefits as long as possible. We will provide updates to you as new details become available.
Will I still be able to use my eWIC card at the store?

Participants should continue to use their eWIC cards at authorized WIC stores. A break in WIC benefits could occur due to a prolonged federal government shutdown. Should I still attend my upcoming WIC appointment?
Yes. During this time, clinics will remain open, and appointments will not be canceled. If this changes, participants will be notified by their local clinic.
Are there any food shortages or restrictions because of the federal government shutdown?
Currently, the Georgia WIC Program is not aware of any food shortages. Additionally, the Georgia WIC Program does not have any restrictions related to the federal government shutdown. Participants will be notified of changes by their local clinic.
