Nutrition counseling, nutrition assessment and nutrition
education on a wide variety of topics are available. Diet
instruction is offered for individuals on special diets for
conditions such as diabetes, diabetes during pregnancy, high
blood pressure, high cholesterol, and weight loss or weight
gain. Breastfeeding counseling and education as well as monthly
Breastfeeding Support Groups are also available. |

Anyone is eligible for nutrition services. |
| WHERE:
All county health departments offer nutrition services by appointment. |
| NEED TO
KNOW: Registered and licensed dietitians and lactation
consultants are on staff. Referrals from private physicians are
accepted. Group sessions and bilingual instruction are
available. |

nutrition staff is committed to providing the best nutrition services
to our public health clientele. These services include:

- SHAPP
- Children with Special needs
- HIV/AIDS

- Chronic Disease Prevention

- Family Planning
- Teen Services
- Diet instruction (with MD
referral) for individuals with nutrition related medical conditions
such as:
- Diabetes
- Gestational diabetes
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Weight loss or weight gain
- Nutritional counseling for
Employee Fitness Program
- Breastfeeding education and
counseling
- Lactation management
- Nutrition and breastfeeding
in-services available upon request
